LA LLORONA by Ms Victoria
Pick a pattern and a pumpkin.
Let's get started.
Draw a guide for your top cut. Don't forget to make a notch so you'll know how to replace your top.
Cut off the top.
Clean out the inside. Scrape one side a little thinner so it's easier to carve.
Save the seeds. They make a great toasted snack.
Cut a little chimney hole in your top.
Sprinkle cinnamon on the inside of your top so the lantern smells nice.
Use pins to afix your pattern to the thin wall of the pumpkin. Tape won't work.
Trace your pattern with pinholes.
Remove your pattern paper and ever so carefully, make the knockouts by following your pinhole outlines with a carving knife.
It's something everyone can do together.
Ms Victoria has been carving pumpkins for ten years. Thanks, Ms Victoria! You really make it fun.
Add your own touch to the pattern.
Are you ready to turn out the lights?
